The claim that Mary is the Mother of God cannot be true as you cannot separate our Lord Jesus from the Godhead. To say that Mary is the Mother of God is to say that she is the Mother of God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. There is now a group in America trying to picture Mary as God the Father and Joseph as the Holy Spirit in answer to motherhood of God of Mary. This also is their answer in the question of perpetual virginity of Mary

Please do not misunderstood my stand because with all my heart I respect Mary the mother of our Lord. She was a chosen vessel by God for the promised Savior. Mary, however, was not sinless. Mary said in the annunciation, My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior. Many wicked kings and a prostitute was in the genealogy of Jesus. Our Lord Jesus Christ is the only sinless One who doesn't need a Savior as he Himself is the Savior

I was once a devoted Roman Catholic despising the King James version of the Holy Bible but follows diligently what is in the RC Catechism. I have a King Douay version that is commonly used by Catholics. My attention was called on the 2nd of the 10 Commandments of God. The Douay version shows there really is the second commandment while the Catechism it was removed in totality. Since removing the 2nd commandment would make the 10 only 9, the Catechism divided the 10th Commandment into two.

@eriesal In Jeremiah 7:18, God is indeed upset with the Israelites for worshipping a false goddess called the "queen of heaven". However, just because God rebuked them for worshipping the false queen of heaven, doesn't mean that we cannot pay honor to the true Queen of Heaven...the Blessed Mother.

@eriesal That type of thinking would lead you to believe that just because people worship a false god that they call "god," we, therefore, should not call the true God, by that same name...God...because that's the same title the idolaters use for their god! That is faulty logic and it makes no sense whatsoever.

Just as the fact that there is a false "god", does not lead to the conclusion that we worship a false god when we call our Father in Heaven, God...

@eriesal And there is a true Queen of Heaven, we see this quite clearly in Revelation 12:1, "And a great portent appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars..." Let's see. There's a woman...she's in Heaven...and she has a crown on her head. I could be wrong, but I don't think it's the maid! No! It is the true Queen of Heaven, Mary, the mother of the male child who is to rule the nations.

@eriesal ...We do not worship Mary, we honor her, just as Jesus honors her. So, there is absolutely nothing wrong, from a scriptural point of view, in calling Mary the Queen of Heaven, and in honoring her just as Jesus honors her.
