This is the part 2 to the mountain bike wheelie tips. If you haven't seen part 1, go to my home page and check it out!

In this video I just finish up explaining how I pull wheelies on a mountain bike. I might post up some videos in the near future of long distance wheelies of over 1 kilometre or so (0.62 miles).

Stay tuned for wheelies and wheelie tips on my Yamaha YZF-R6 motorbike!!

Go check out my homepage. Cheers!

  • ummmm i can pull a wheelie on my friends mtb but i cant pull one on mine ???

  • Each mtb is different. Just set your one up as similar as you can to your friends mtb. And practice!! Good luck

  • i always pull up standing up on my bike. any tips?

  • You can pull up standing if you want to, but i personally don't recommend it. It makes it easy to pull the wheelie up, but then you need to sit down to carry it for long distance. The whole time your balance won't be relaxed and the bike will try fall to the left or right very quickly in most situations. Try pulling up smooth and relaxed in a sitting position, it will give you less to think about and less to practice. Good luck man!

  • Thanks for all your tips, and vids your great. Looking forward on learning this. Good look with your R6, I ride a naked BT 1100 bought it just for fun and slow mountain rides. Well back to my wheelie practice :)

  • No worries dude! Yeah the R6 is going great. Can wheelie it at balance point for as far as I like now

  • Great videos!!! Very breif. The only thing I don't get is HOW you maintain the height. I tried a few times but i keep bringing myself to the ground even though I'm very gentle on the rearbrake. ohwell I'm goin' out to try again now. thx 4 the vids

  • what gear do them in

  • Keep practicing! Bring the front wheel up slower maybe, it sounds like you are bringing it up too high to begin with then having to jam the rear brake on. Bring the front up quickly, but not as fast as you can. Then once it is up, just lightly use rear brake when you start going too far backwards. If you start dropping the front from using the rear brake, pedal a little bit quicker. Then you work on sideways balance which comes with lots of practice!

  • I've been trying to do wheelies on my mbt and so far I've progressed alright i got the mechanics of lifting the bike, but most of the times I'm forced to use the rear back and the bikes comes down. Any sugestion on finding the right balance. Also is it better or easier to try and master the manual first?
