Great balance by Cleveland Gary to score the final TD of this game, and the first in his Canes career, to nudge the final score to 31-4.

Kerwin Bell injures his shoulder and is replaced by 5th year senior Pepe Lescano, who is picked by Donald Ellis in the end zone, Ellis' second interception of the quarter.

True freshman Craig Erickson makes his Canes debut on the final possession, throwing deep with a few seconds left. I bet Jimmy Johnson wouldn't have minded a bit if that had connected and been remembered as the final act in the annual series, considering the circumstances. Johnson was carried off the field. Nice to see a game in the era before the always clever Gatorade dunking of the head coach.

I still can't believe the Orange Bowl is gone. Makes me sick. I can't even drive past the area. My last game was Marshall, the 2007 opener, final season in the Orange Bowl. I wore black in protest even though it was late August and broiling.

I saw your thread on Winslow Homer. Let's hope for a big racing year. But I always doubt a Triple Crown winner if no one emerged as a freak 2 year old.
