Talk Box Blues .mov

I always had an idea that a Talk Box would be a pretty cool addition to my arsenal but I always assumed that it was a little too exotic, a little too expensive and a little too hard to use. Did a little research and discovered it was none of these things.

I'm no Frampton, true, but I see here that after an hour or so of discovery that a fella needn't be a virtuoso to create some some fairly neat sounds. This is a Dunlop Heil Talk Box.

This is not a piece of cake to set up for optimal use. Gonna really have to learn how to mic this thing and fit it into amp/speaker/FX chain. If any of you, my guitar playing friends, have experience and tips for me I would be thankful!

Thanks. I think the pros use PAs but you don't have to...I didn't for this vid. Don't use a high wattage amp. The Talkbox is rated at 100 watts max power. Check that your amplifier will not overpower the Talk Box before hooking it up. Good luck!

@batfink777 i have a heil also and i got a new guitar amp with an output and i turned on the talk box and i cant get any sound from the talk box. for the speaker im using my roland kc-150 keyboard amp and idk why i cant get the talk box to work. i hope its not broken. i went to my local guitar store and no one there uses one

the tube works as a microphone basically, mouth positioning doesnt really matter, just make sure you can hold it without hands and make a "voice"
