LeeSaku: Brave

LOL! Okay...don't worry! I still like SasuSaku though this pairing has intrigued me since the moment between Lee and Sakura during a recent manga chapter. So I decided that I would explore this pairing a bit more since I do seriously love Lee's character.

So I decided to lurk at the LeeSaku fanclub at Naruto Forums, and they convinced me to do this AMV. So this video is dedicated to you amazing guys there!

I am glad that I was convinced though. I thoroughly enjoyed making this AMV since in the process of making this, I grew to love this pairing even more. Many of my previous misconceptions were changed during this time.

For example:

I used to think that Lee's crush of Sakura came out of no where and for no good reason, but looking back at the episodes, I noticed something. Lee before this was well-aware of Sasuke's capabilities and that was the reason he challenged him a later. Though before this challenge, Lee witnessed on the ground behind Team 7 Sasuke complimenting Sakura's perception abilities for noticing the genjutsu probably before him. Soon after that, Lee confessed is crush to Sakura.

There is no concrete evidence, but I believe Lee heard Sasuke equate Sakura on his level and thought that she was an amazing and strong girl to be up at the level of his rival. So if I am right, Lee's initial crush of Sakura was based on his belief that Sakura was strong in some way.

Other things I noticed about LeeSaku is that despite Lee promising to protect her often, Sakura does something we don't expect out of her. She seems inspired by Lee and steps out on her own strongly instead of feeling guilty or weak because of her own perceived weakness. Sakura hates being protected due to that belief so it was interesting to see Lee inspire Sakura to be better and even Sakura inspiring Lee in turn.

I don't know if this pairing will become canon, and I am not sure if I want it to. Most likely, it will not but I am now open to it more and if Kishimoto does it right, open to be convinced that this is a good, canon pairing. Lee is a wonderful guy and Sakura and him have a healthy, mutually beneficial relationship that has helped to change them both. Though I want to keep on believing in SasuSaku, I still want to give Sakura a choice since Sasuke is NOT an easy man to love. Hopefully, if LeeSaku becomes the canon pairing, then it will be done in a way that makes sense of the fact now that Sakura still loves Sasuke, and won't make her look "fickle like the autumn skies" in the end since Lee deserves the best out of her.

aww this is really adorable! <3 in general I don't care about LeeSaku at all, but I do think its a cute pairing! The chances are low, but still possible, and can be done right. Though I I never really though about his crush on her from thinking she was smart or strong, so that's interesting =)

I guess LeeSaku does that to all of us. Even if we like another Sakura or Lee pairing more, it is hard to hate this one.

lee is one of my fave male characters in naruto; i don't like leesaku as a canon pairing but i like sakura and lee's relationship ♥

by the way, do you know why there's no access to FC's in NF? i enjoy surfing FC's there but it's been a long time the links are blocked or something T_T

@thesugarlollipop I feel kind of the same way. I love their relationship, but am too entrenched in SasuSaku to change teams completely now.

The largest NF fanclubs are off-line due to maintenance issues. They were basically too large and were causing problems to the site as a whole so they had to be split off into smaller, connected threads. The latest news from them is that they all will be up and running sometime this weekend (hopefully).

Truth be told I prefer LeeSaku to SasuSaku a great deal. Oddly enough I started as a Sasusaku fan but as time went on I began to realize that Sakura deserved far better than what Sasuke could ever give. Then there's Lee, a dedicated and attentive individual who would lay down his life for those he cares about.In the end it comes down to the bad boy vs the nice guy and in all honesty relationships with the former crash and burn while the latter live on and evolve into something truly special.

I'm so happy you've done a tribute to this pairing. It's a welcome break from the numerous SasuSaku vids. Personally I think LeeSaku represents a far more healthy relationship too.
