She's not saying to live dirt cheap, IDIOT! She is saying to live within your means. She can afford to live a more wealthy lifestyle since she has the income. If you don't have the income to due so, then your best option is to live within your means. If you don't have a great income. Stop being lazy, and do something to make a better income.

@sidereally with 40 being the new 30, 50 being the new 40, 60 is the new 50. Besides, I didn't say she was young. I said she was young enough to enjoy all the money she takes in. I'm not begrudging her, but I do think it's hypocritcal of her to tell everyone to live dirt cheap, while she lives it up at their expense.

I'm not a fan of Suze Orman, and I'm still not. To me, Suze wants everyone to live dirt cheap, put everything into retirement, then when it's time to retire, you'll (as another comment says) be so old, you won't be able to enjoy it. Meanwhile, she lives high on the hog, young enough to enjoy it. It's the same old case of "Do as I say, not as I do." She makes money to tell everyone what common sense should tell us.
Hey, Haters! It's a mistake to conflate "spending money" with "enjoying life." If you can't enjoy life living within your means, then you will be even more miserable once you've mismanaged yourself into one bankruptcy after another. Suze is a true hero! You can't go wrong taking her advice into careful consideration.

@ajd1211 Yes, but Suze HAS been dirt poor, living out of her car, and is a self made woman. I believe her net worth is 10 million, which is actually alot less than I expected, though way more than anyone really needs. It wasn't handed to her though, which gives her respect in my eyes.
