Some ambient / post-rock looping I'm working on. It's fun to write soft melodies like this, but it's harder than I thought it would be to make it sound effortless. I know using delay, reverb, and volume swells is pretty cliché, but let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions or questions. Thank you for listening.

I'll be making a music page for a new project I'm working on, but my pre-2010 work is here:

  • That's beautiful .... How the hell can I get a sound like that ?? Amazing

  • @pritch1964 Thank you so much, sir! What sound exactly are you speaking of? Take a look at my 'setup' in the description and see if there's anything you think you could use and I'll let you know what I think of it.

Most important is the notes you're playing and how they relate to each other. In this case, the main melody is the first and the fifth complimenting each other, with lots of reverb and delay. Thank you for watching! :)

  • wow, thats my AMP :D...

  • @28659pfirsik You've got a '65 Twin Reverb too? It sounds a lot better in real life without the choking SM58, huh? ;)

  • it's never cliche if it sounds good man. you did good here.

  • @scorpguitar79 Haha, that's what I like to hear! Thank you for watching. If you're interested in hearing the studio version of the song, please feel free to check it out here: /watch?v=0WXC7oN1yAQ

  • would love to get a looper pedal, reverb pedal, delay pedal, and an equalizer pedal for an ambient setup. it wouldn't be very extravagant, but that's basically all i think i'd need. maybe a chorus pedal too. i guess a volume expression pedal would be nice too. but i can't get anything for at least 5 months. i'm 18 now, its about time i get a job... when i finish high school. xD

i think i might wanna stay home in san antonio for college, got too much goin on to just fuckin leave. and its cheaper.

  • Beautiful. A nice demonstration of how looping can be of far better value than otherwise, unlike some "purists" insist! Nice little expensive setup you've got there, it pays for itself I imagine! A great piece, I'll be sure to check out the studio version :)

  • @Shredster3000 Thank you so much, I appreciate you watching! Please feel free to subscribe for more like this. :)

  • @Glockinmypock3t Thank you so much! I did, actually, record the full version of this song along with bass and drums. Check it out (and download it if you like) here: /watch?v=0WXC7oN1yAQ
