Doesn't matter if he loses the ball. The runner lowered his shoulder and plowed over the catcher. By rule, that is malicious contact, and the runner is out and ejected. Read the rule. That's how it works. Of course, being an umpire, that means I know more about the rules than you.
Now you just slink off because you were just proven wrong by someone who actually knows the rules.
