Alcoholics Anonymous was founded BY alcoholics, FOR alcoholics and has become the largest and best support group in the world (for alcoholics) People who come inappropriately to AA for other problems such as drug addiction, depression or emotional problems will rarely be able to fully identify with the AA fellowship or fully comprehend the AA program of recovery. There are exceptions of course, but non-alcoholics should be prepared to be disappointed in AA

  • I don't believe Wilson had any interest in helping anyone.

  • @MrTobytwirl - Really!

Well now, I'd say the contest is over. We have a winner!

  • @MrTobytwirl - still laughing at your last comment . Just about everyone in the civilized world would disagree. As for the rest of you, you are very disturbed. If you don't like AA, that's understandable, but to say the type of things you Weenies say just displays a breathtaking level of ignorance.

  • @gamerdaddy "After doing the Sinclair Method, I can say I don't suffer anymore."

Could you give more detail? You don't suffer (or suffer less) in what sense? Less cravings? Less thoughts about it? Or less grief attending AA meetings with all the jargon and ways of thinking? Do you do any 'treatment' of any kind now? Do you only use Naltrexone when you drink or daily? Do you ever drink without it?

  • @andreasheinz Well, if AA is helping you that much then I can only hope you keep on with this treatment.

My case didn't fit AA. I was among those who simply don't manage to get rid of alcoholism in AA.

That's why I always talk about the Sinclair Method when any video or comment related to alcohol comes up. It saved my life.

I had short periods of sobriety in AA (1-3 months) but they were plenty of suffering. After doing the Sinclair Method, I can say I don't suffer anymore.

  • @gamerdaddy Thx, your 100% OK. ;)

I'm talking about standard therapy in terms of DSM - that is standard stuff. A standard therapy at its best reach 0.7 and helps 0.7 that is .049.

There is 0.51 for alternative methods.

One good method is qualified detox, that is NOT a structured therapy.

Another alternative method is the Sinclair Methods that is NOT a psychological therapy.

But in terms of Quickcup (its his channel here), its a method to stop, like aa's fantastic stop 24h-thing.

  • @andreasheinz Ok, then I'll assume that you had no intention to be rude, fine.

About the Sinclair Method, it's not a detox method. What it does, in a very simple and non-technical way, is to "crush the party". English is not my native language, so I have to say it with different expressions to make myself clear.

I don't FEEL that euphoria, that joy, that sort of "happiness" (we know that's not real happiness) that alcohol normally causes. I don't feel that explosion of dopamine.

  • @gamerdaddy You got the " Go fuck me" was a clear statement. I guess its very very civilized as it wasn't a personal insult. I just made clear how stupid the "Sinclair Method" really is. Its okay as an alternative to standard detox-methods. So what? Some alkies or addicts manage their lives go into detox, go into drugs, addiction stuff, go into detox, go into addiction stuff...

Sinclair is the Doctor Paul for the non aa'ers - hot air, no substance.

  • @andreasheinz WHAT???

What's your problem, sir? Can't you just debate in a civilized way? Is that so hard?

Really, I didn't get your point at all! "Go fuck me"? What crap was that???

  • @gamerdaddy "Taking naltrexone before drinking will need to be done for the rest of the patient's life, otherwise the endorphin conditioning will re-establish itself."

    Go fuck you
