Technically, Dispatch and IC are two different things. IC is the Incident Commander at the scene, usually a Battalion Chief or the Capt On scene. Dispatches "name" never changes to anything besides dispatch etc, or for example LACOFD's dispatch is called LA..

When using the radios, they refer to dispatch as IC. What does that stand for?
