I just discovered the field of GIS a few weeks ago after several years of trying to figure out what to do with my life/career after having to leave the army due to training injuries. Not an easy thing to do with a wife and four kids in tow. But I have to say that it seems GIS is my ultimate dream job and I can't wait to speak to the local college adviser on friday to learn more! Thanks for the vid. I really look forward to the field work.

@thelunatiqcafe Thanks, this was two years ago. It happens i am still interested in Geology- but i ended up getting accepted to an Electrical Engineering program at university. I can still work in the "Geo" job market with this degree at least. I am just trying to get a degree that can find a job in any state, or even overseas. good info though.

@RenjiLambrusco Being a geology student myself, I would suggest looking into a environmental science, chemistry (if you are interest in the makeup of the earth) or physics (if you are into the movement of the earth.) Environmental science applies all of the science aspects, ie, geology, chemistry, physics, biology, etc.

Ive always wanted to be a geologist and absolutely love the whole subject. I started at nursing school 2 months ago but heavily regret it now and am going back to what is true to me and what I can imagine and love doing the rest of my life...

im interested in bcomng a geologist any tipz?
Because some people may be interested in GIS/GEO as a career and would like some input from someone within in the field.
I wouldn't expect you to understand considering your most eventful daily activity is to search YouTube for completely uninformative drivel.
