Yo there is some great sites on the net, with folks that are willing to help you with diet and what to start out with. Your new bible is BREAKING THE VICIOUS CYCLE, read know it and maybe when your ready and of course using the diet pass the word around. Sadly doctors that i have experienced are more mechincal about UC, which is the way they are trained. Not there fault. yogurt ROCKS. Meditation will help with the stress of always having the need to find the bowl. I ORDERED TAO OF BREATHING BOOK

i'm going to have to try this diet. any recommendations for a newcomer?
I'm just curious what brand of applesauce you buy. Thanks :)

I usually get "Motts natural" applesauce. But I also get the grocery-brand natural applesauce depending what's on sale. Just check the labels and make sure there's no sugar or corn syrup in it. Usually the ingredients will say: apples and water.

I did... partly because I wasn't being strict. And I rushed the diet a little since it was hard for me to follow in the beginning. It wasn't as bad because I didn't go back to the doctor. I handled it own my own. It took about a week or more till the flare went away. Do you have the breaking the vicious cycle book? My edition might be different from yours: Read chapt. 9 pg 69-70. You might have to cut out the bananas/fruits for now and just eat the soup for a while. eat smaller meals.

Your room's clean!!! (0_0)! Or did you just move all the junk outa camera shot ;). I can eat what I like as I've said 100 times before. But still, some good ideas! I like pork scratchings (that's what they're called in the UK), but only now and again 'cause those things are fattening!

I'm a bit "afraid" of diets as my uc gets to control every second of my life then. Could make you feel sicker & depressed as you are constatly reminded of the uc. Well that's just my opinion.
But I did decide to try omega 3 as it was only a few more pills and wouldn't restrain me in my daily life. I have been taking 3 x the recommended dosage for a while now and I'm the closest I've been to being normal in 4,5 years. Hope it will "cure" me totally soon.
It's easily done so give it a try! =)

That's cool that you found something that works for you. I get plenty of fish in my diet, so I think I might be covered with the omega 3 thing. but I agree about being constantly reminded. Colitis is always in the back of my mind, but I don't want to let it ruin my life :)
