Race Relations in Malaysia - An Indian View

BBC Radio 4's Crossing Continents travelled to Malaysia to explore the divide among races and spoke to the new generation of Malaysians pushing for more equality after decades of a system of racial preferences.

This extract features reporter Mukul Devichand speaking to student and blogger Vasantarao, who was part of an explosion of anger from Malaysia's smallest racial group, the Indians, which first shook the country in 2007.

The problem with the Indians in Malaysia is they kept voting the wrong party i.e. MIC. If they had wise up earlier, they would not have arrived at this situation. Sad but true.

the thing is its true but why not malays is the richest though they have support from government... coz they are not working hard as chinese but since they have backup frm government they no need to... but then why indians are not advance as chinese because they simply complaint about the government unlike chinese who work hard... but not all if them only some of them,..
