A very showy and always well appreciated, but quite tricky piece.
Gershwin's own performance is far better ( I'm no pro :( ) but is hasn't been yet uploaded on youtube...

This is a transcription I made a long time ago of Gershwin's piano roll. I have since then lost the sheet music but if someone provides me with a midi scan of the roll I can write it again ! Until then you can look for Artis Wodehouse's transcription of Gershwin's recording, which is similar...

  • i listen to this song about 4 times a day now :)

  • @AcEman914 Thanks for this nice comment !!! Have you already heard Gershwin's versions of Swanee ( posted by Youtube user MFFilms815), or "That Certain Feeling" ? "So am I" is nice too, and the same kind of music.

  • Is that at all based on ''In the hall of the Mountain king''? 'Cause there are points where I keep thinking it is :L (I'm hoping I've got the write name when I say ''In the hall of the Mountain King'' and it's not something else :L)

  • @HmmHarry Hey HmmHary ! I guess you are refering to the chorus (0:47). This very recognisable sequence of chords (Gmin Amaj7 Dmaj7) appears indded in Peer Gynt, but also in Fat's Waller's "Zonky" (on youtube) or more recently the soundtrack of the cartoon "Inspector Gadget", which I believe to have been inspired by Zonky.

  • Bravo!

  • @haupper Thanks ! I will do some others videos, probably this summer. Since you appreciate it; would you mind "liking" it or adding it to your favs ? it would help the video getting higher in the search results.

  • Amazing. I know about how hard this is. The Wodehouse version kinda broke my fingers. Still need to brush your version up? Guess not, keep it fluent and relaxed. So nice, thank you.

  • @AuCafeDeLaMarmotte Ah yes, Inspector Gadget! :L I've been humming that tune all day without knowing it! Aha :L

  • someone get this person a midi scan

  • Always reminds me of Woody Allen's movie Manhattan :)
