malakian plays very start stop riffs, stuff which stands out from other instruments,
and thompson is mix thrash, etc with heavy riffage,
deftones guitar work blends in the music, its another depth to the music rather then standing out,
i think stephs guitar work is similar to bands like glassjaw, chevelle etc
