Back in the late 80's I used to buy raw Levi's 501 jeans and personalize them by putting them on and sliding around on the sidewalk to scuff them up. Sometimes I washed them with bleach. Sometimes I slashed them with a razor. Sometimes I screwed them up big time! But it was fun, especially during a time when "stone washed" denim was a new thing.
