India's elite have long enjoyed luxury goods imported from the West. With the Indian luxury market worth 450 million US dollars a year, Italian luxury brands are looking at strengthening their presence in India. But they face high custom duties and the lack of retail space.

  • Armani T-Shirt quality suck. I checked out House of Frazer. I bought Emporio Armani perfume that was good.

  • Most luxury brands are made in China. (Gucci, Armani, Diesel are made in China). The ones that are not made in china are not on discount.

  • @SREEJIS12 yeah but lets be realistic the world had always been a unequal place and india use to have the maharaja which live in palaces and segregate its people into caste the new rich are continuing what had started. its sad especially since india are among the country where more than half of its people live below poverty line

  • We sometimes forget or find it convenient to forget that there are millions of people who are undernourished. The elite have a backlash coming if the don't learn to live within more realistic means.
