http://www.sports-fun.com/services-2/company-picnics/ If you're trying to get your employees to bond, you're on the right path to having a working team of people who enjoy being around each other. It takes time to build up camaraderie like this, but you can speed the process up a bit by ensuring that everyone has access to plenty of team building activities. One of the perfect places to do this is during the annual company picnic. Here are a few ideas to get you started. Trust Fall: This is a very popular team building activity that can be done just about anywhere. One person stands with their back to the others, on a table or platform. The remaining employees form two rows, with hands clasped in the center to catch the person who will fall straight back. There are variations on this, such as having each person call out something about themselves as they fall. Knot Unravel: Stand everyone in a circle and have them close their eyes. They should each reach out with their right hand and grab someone else's hand across the circle. Then they open their eyes and grab the left hand of a different person. Now the group has to work together to unravel themselves without unclasping hands. In very large groups, you can split them into several clusters. Shoe Game: Have everyone take off their shoes and pile them in a big pile. Now, divide the group into teams of 10 or so people. Everyone has to find their shoes and put them on. The first team done sits down, to show their feet. The members of each team will have to work together to get through it fast. Company Tic-Tac-Toe: Set up nine chairs in three rows of three. Divide teams into two groups, one for X and the other for O. Ask the teams questions about the company and when they answer correctly, they can place someone in one of the chairs. The rules are the same as Tic-Tac-Toe. Line Up: Choose something like height, age, or last names alphabetically and divide everyone into two (or more, if there are quite a few people) teams. The first team to arrange itself in order is the winning team. You can even do this game a few different times, using different methods of sorting each time. For the best results, make sure you mix up the teams when doing these team building activities. There are always small groups of people who tend to hang out during breaks at work, so make sure that they are split up when possible, to encourage the forming of new bonds with people they might not know as well. The company picnic is the perfect time to work on some ice breakers and team activities to help boost the links that keep a team together. It's well worth making the effort to bring your employees together as a group. In the long run, everyone will benefit and you'll have more company loyalty, as well. Large and small corporations have discovered company picnics as a low cost and effective way of employees and their families to meet and mingle in a relaxed atmosphere and actually improve company moral and productivity.
