  • I this in a traditional style or modern?

  • @MISTERMORNE This is original style of the song ( first version from burma radio broadcasting service (BBS). I played that music for some myanmar friends who wanted to sing this song, like radio version so that they could sing easily. The tempo is a little slow for the singerand some notes are waiting for singer. Usually sing-with-me version is not good as piano solo version. Because they want to sing the way they heard as original version. I greatly appreciate everyone. No one got wrong!

Yes, I agree. Piano is a wonderful instrument. Not like a flute that you can play a single line of melody. With ten fingers, the piano enable the pianist not only to play melody but also accompaniment at the same time. Chords, accompaniment, counterpoints, harmony can be played at the same time as melody. JS Bach can play 3 or more tunes playing at the same time on piano.

Myanmar piano music has only the melody line in stead of left hand playing chords, harmony or counterpoints.

  • This only has the melody only. No harmony played at all.

Once in London a concert was organised by myanmar embassy with Soe Sandar Tun, a professional pianist and Saung Mg Nay Wah for western guests.

After hearing SST singing with piano accompaniment, it was requested that she sings without the piano accompaniment. To be acceptable internationally, playing piano without harmony will not do.

  • Breath-takingly beautiful. Your masterly touch and phrasing is beautiful.
