  • Thanks a lot for this upload! I am a big fan of the F4U-1 Corsair and I can say that you've done justice to the plane. May I ask that you buid a 1-A variant as well? Preferably the Lulubelle of Pappy Boyington. Thanks!

  • @pearldiver610 Thank you... If I can find a kit I will try... I really like the Corsair as well.. :) :)

  • Paying a little trip down memory lane here! Can't wait to get stuck in about my 1/48 Tamiya Birdcage Corsair, especially after watching this little beauty come together! Hopefully (and I'm sure it will) the Tamiya will go together as well as it's island cousin here, although, typically I have a ton of aftermarket to go into it!

  • @Ezza190 That's the glory of Airfix... :P

  • @BasicModelling I have to tell you about the decal instructions, they make no sense whatsoever, some of the decals it tells you dont even exist on the sheet, so i opted to the old guessing and knowledge, but it turned out alright once i varnished it :)

  • @Ezza190 If you buy the new red boxes you'll be fine.. but anything before that can still contain the bad decals.. :P I tend to use a lot of after market decals anyway, which is a way to get round the problem.. :) Looking forward to the FAA Corsair, I want one for my collection too.. :)

  • @BasicModelling At least they dont do them now, even when you varnish the decals in place, those type still come off, still, im close to finishing my own Corsair at the moment, just need to put the decals on her, its the Airfix Corsair FAA, it will be a good result :)

  • @Ezza190 I don't know why the brown backed decals are so bad, I guess Airfix swapped the printer / maker of the decals, and ended up even worse.. Luckily they don't seem to use that manufacturer anymore.. the old style Airfix decals are still the best ones, even if they seldom are in register.. :)

  • @BasicModelling Well, the kit i had, the Fuselage was blue, maybe it was a conversion kit im not sure, and i think that would be a splendid idea, i use some decals from other kits, but when it comes to ''Brown Backed'' Decals, then i wont use them, why are they bad quality? the brown backed versions :|

  • @Ezza190 Didn't know they had released a Bubble version.. :) I have heard the Razorback isn't very good, but I was thinking of buying one for the decals, as I'd like to build a formation aircraft.. :) I could use the decals on one of my Academy Razors.. :)
