Take a ride in this CAT powered Kenworth. I shot a little in traffic with lots of gear changes and then on to the freeways to go west. The running speed on the freeways varies from actual up to 9x

  • I just love these films Rod; you couldn't possibly post just this one, or the previous trucking down under at the normal speed - that would totally make my day - it really would! I can't explain, but I just love watching these films of the roads round Melbourne - brings back so many memories. Shall leave with you, but yeh, your stuff is just fabulous!

  • @anna8099 Thanks but 45' and 7gb is a bit too much to upload I'm afraid

  • Nice movie are you running a Detroit or a CAT it doesn't sound like a Cummins, what sort of gearbox have you got fitted it doesn't sound like a roadranger it sounds like a Spicer paddle thats being clicked through the gears the sound is unique.

  • @Ar1k1 I did say it was a CAT in the description but I'm only the cameraman. gm16v149 will be able to answer your other questions, it's his rig.

  • When was the footage shot?

  • @WeldinMike27 Thursday 5th Jan.

  • I am not sure why, but I enjoyed watching this. The video is very smooth when playing fast... like playing a video game. Love the sounds.

Euro trucks may be better refined, but that comes at a cost. Euro trucks do not seem to handle the high KM's over Australias often poor roads, that the more rugged US designed trucks do, so reliablilty and just as importantly resale value suffer. The truck in the vid is an 80's build and not all that uncommon on the road here, but you do not see many 80's build euro trucks doing interstate highway work. Search new and used Australian truck prices and see for yourself.

  • Thanks rod.
