@SteelCity1981 Yeah it really did, I hated the 4th gen but it was better than the mustang for those years by far. I think in 99 the gt came with 260hp at the flywheel and 216 to the rear axle rated by car and driver. for a car that is suppose to be fast that is weak.

@stratmemph1 Well I will agree that the 5th gen camaro GM went back to the camaro roots. The 4th gen was lost a lot of that which imo was the demise of the camaro for almost a decade the first time around. The 1st gen, 3rd gen and now thwe new 5th gen are the best camaro gens imo. The 2nd gen camaros were ok, but the 4th gen was a lost cause. When they went to that big bubble shape it just lost a lot of its appeal to many sports car buys.

@SteelCity1981 by stock i was refering to the gt vs the ss. reason im not considering cobra or hennessee "stock" is because theyre both supercharged and "modded" by outside contracting companies, but yes still part of the lineup you are correct on that. About every test i have seen by respectable reviewers before the gt 5.0 came out the camaro was walking the mustang and the challenger. chevy did it right bringing back this car and it isnt slow by any means,which i was originally getting at.

@stratmemph1 is is or is it not still apart of both compabies product line? It is regardless if they are special editions they are both still part of the product line of those two car companies. What is stock i mean you can say anything beyond an RS or regualr mustang thats not base line isn't considered stock, because a GT a Cobra a Z28 an IROC are besed on high performance midgrade options that wasn't stock to the base models. No one is arguing that, but they don't destroy them.

@SteelCity1981 The hennessy is modded, just like the gt500. THEY AREN'T STOCK. Although you can still buy them from a dealership they are still ARE NOT built by gm or ford. Ford and Gm contract out to hennesy and shelby for mass production of performance parts, they don't make them in house. Regardless, none of this has to do with my original comment, STOCK camaros outperform STOCK mustangs, and this is proved by the fact ford had to drop a whole new engine just to stay in the game.

And again your wrong because the gt500 uses a blown 5.4L while the stock mustang uses a 4.6l or the new 5.0. the shell and badging may be the same but its still a different car.

@SteelCity1981 You are a moron.The shelby isnt a stock mustang, Its built by shelby american inc. to be that fast, not by ford and the SS came out and stomped the dog shit out of the mustang gt, hence the 5.0 in retaliation because Ford knew it was sucking ass and finally the mustang is almost on the same level. GT500 is on the same level as the hennessy camaro, which was faster than the shelby. dont forget about the zl1 coming out either, which will own a gt500

That was one of my favorite cars in the early 90's that exact color scheme 1992 with there F40 style wings and of course thats one of the 350 cars. Very clean.
