California's unusually wet winter has produced an abundance of potential fuel for this year's fire season. The Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in
cooperation with CalFire and the Los Angeles County Fire Department has 200 fire fighting crews at the ready. This cooperative effort dates back to 1946.
CDCR supplies low-level, low-risk prison inmates and Cal Fire supplies the training and equipment, working together to fight California wildfires and other emergency incidents.
