@BE109 this was smarty jone's 2nd race around 2 turns so you are correcty he is definitely learning...look at that half 45.4 ..and he still won...he was an amazing horse...

I think your right about him needing to settle i can't see why he wasn't the betting favorite. He was undeafeated in 5 races before the K Derby SJ is a really nice horse.

Smarty is still learning his trade here. By the Ark Derby he had shown he was a good student. Then everybody learned his name!
