'Greening the Recovery' is a UCL Green Economy Policy Commission report,  led by Professor Paul Ekins (UCL Institute of Sustainable Resources, Director). The Commission has brought together academics from across the disciplines to deliver a comprehensive report that makes the case for a new green industrial strategy for the UK.

The report  focuses on the policies needed to achieve an environmentally sustainable economy, arguing that we need a new green industrial strategy for the UK economy to continue to prosper in a new environment. It argues that the short-term costs of environmental policies have been over-estimated whilst the economic pay-offs have been underestimated. It also argues that in the current window of opportunity -- whilst interest rates remain low, resources are under-utilised, and the benefits of investment are high --  the Government should take decisive action to move the UK onto a green economy, although this window is closing fast.
