A small test I made comparing ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead Maxed out with MAX nvidia settings. Everything was set to very high except HDR (only difference with hdr is in frame drop) and 10k view distance.

Filmed it with FRAPS and on half speed in-game, then doubled the speed back to 1.0 in sony vegas to make it look more like a video not a slide show :)

Full system specs in channel left side description.

  • While in maxed out Nvidia settings the game looks way more "effect polished" it lowers down the frame rate and it's not a really BIG different with the normal settings... I would stay with the defaults.

  • @isfwarchief Of course it's not playable but it looks good for screenshots. Captures more detail.

  • What was the HDR level? Normal? And it doesn't do much else than eating frames?

  • @StuntmanKnut It's set to normal. I've tested it more than once and I never noticed any difference in the picture. This is just a test showing how the game looks when the nvidia settings are maxed out also.

  • @davidppatriot Ok, Im sure I have some spare change in my pocket to buy that.

  • If you really want it maxed out, you need to run it with the i7 3930x and the like quad 7970s w/ EVGA's Classified motherboard...

  • @Kenworts Couldn't agree more with you.

  • Default looks better imo

  • I can't exactly tell - but it looks from my eyes that default NVIDIA settings work better, somehow?
