David Letterman got it, now United Artist does... There is still remnants of humanity in all of us ;) Go writers Go, sock it to them ! Meanwhile... The wealthiest 1% of Americans earned 21.2% of all income in 2005. The bottom 50% got their hands on 12.8% and we should lose sleep on the faith of our masters... puhleaaase ;)

Nope, I got your misguided union busting point all right, but check your stats and the latest FCC ruling; The Man with it's media consolidation, anti-democratic, power grabbing media-plutocracy is on the sick side of absolute greed. Since when are artist the cause of all evil while our media-military-industrial complex wreaks the world with incessant abuse. Crack a book or two about the world you live in instead of regurgating the intellectual pablum you've been fed by The Man ;)

I'm sure you completely misunderstood my point, the writers = greed.
They were offered a reasonable deal and turned it down, and furthermore, their methods of going on strike and costing tons of people their jobs in the process earns no sympathy from me, if they would relax, sit down and discuss it without these archaic methods, they would cease hurting the little guy AND the industry as a whole.
Damn greedy writers.
STRIKE OVER / UNION WINS ! While Forbes journalist Lacey Rose cheers for cyber-showbiz in general "The agreement legitimizes the new medium within the industry, guarantees the writers a stake in it and aligns the interests of everyone in Hollywood in seeking Internet success." ; the fact that a union has successfully wage a battle against the greedy MAN and won is mighty fine by me. Next stop...

How about a campaign against the five curses of humanity : WAR, POVERTY, ENVIRONMENTAL DESTRUCTION' IGNORANCE & DISEASE. Now that would yield better results for each & everyone of us but the industrial-military-complex, Now wouldn't that be something ! "We must repudiate the structure of economic privilege and the tyranny of war makers" - George McGovern 1975 / PEACE !

The Writers Guild of America announced a deal with the studios that secures them a cut of internet revenues. The NYT says writers are warily optimistic about the deal, while the WP says writers are "jubilant" about "victory."

Directors Reach Deal With Hollywood Studios / THE MAN wants to isolate the writers so they can put the burden of economic slowdown squarely on their shoulders in a divide & conquer fashion. Their putdown line of choice is to tag them as snotty retarded privileged adolescents lost into World of Warcraft and Guitar Hero antics. Nothing about union busting though ;)

ADVANTAGE COLBERT ! Although Stewart's return was neatly excused, Colbert is such a improv master, his show was transcendent while Jon's plainly showed that to get rid of writers all the remaining staff had to become... well... euh... writers ;)

Yesterday's Daily Show with Jon Stewart was a sad reminder of how much writers are needed to elevate any TV show from the humdrum corpo-propaganda big media has sunk to. Poor Jon himself had a moment of clear despair and his interview (about liberal fascism ;) was the worst train wreck I've seen in a long time with a dozen of edits... a practice I had never noticed that badly on that show up to now... ADVANTAGE COLBERT INDEED ! Check the show with Lou Dods and SEX & Robots... Masterfull !
