Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal and LCTCS President Joe May - Day One Guarantee Press Conference

Governor Bobby Jindal held a press conference with Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS) President Dr. Joe D. May, LCTCS Chairman of the Board Brett Mellington, Louisiana Department of Labor Secretary Tim Barfield, and Louisiana Economic Development Secretary Stephen Moret to announce the official adopting of the Governors Day One Guarantee initiative to ensure Louisiana workers are ready to work on their very first day on the job or they will be retrained for free. The Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS) has demonstrated a commitment to employers by offering a Day One Guarantee that will promise a highly skilled, trained workforce and free retraining for any graduate not meeting the needs of businesses. Curriculum standards have been developed with direct involvement of business and industry. These standards serve as the industry- validated specifications for each occupational program.
