@sphinx4real - can be felt through more european dance patterns. Mostly seen in tap dance which owes half of it's ancestry to irish clog dancing and Jazz Dance (lindy hop NOT fosse) which owes some of it's ancestry to european social dancing. Even some acrobatic floor work can be traced to russia injected with the soul of africa... but yes AFRICA, and in particular west africa most likely is A root of the dance if you go back far enough, hell all human culture can be traced back to africa...

@sphinx4real yes and no: africa is continent there are millions of dance styles there, if we were to narrow it down i would say "west african" dance may have been an influence since we mostly were abdcuted from that area. BUT, i would also say our culture were ripped from us in the states, very little of the tangible culture surivive unlike it did in Caribbean and South America (Brazil in particular) where you can see direct influence from the mother land. Here in the states the soul of africa -

@DjDedan The foundation of it all is AFRICAN dance. These guys in this video can transfer their skills to jazz etc
-
@tuffythetiger the foundations of this dance is jazz, imo, not fosse though more like frankie manning, al minns etc... fast complicated footwork and incredible acrobatics, plus the improvisational spirit of the dance, the combinations from out of nowhere is based in jazz dance... if you watch old movies like hellzapoppin you will see the same spirit...

Brooklyn Terry is not only a dancer he is also an illusionist.I think jazz does not fit this type of dance .This dance works best with fast music especially progressive tribal, this is the reason why they can dance faster, even though the music is fast.House gives them a good range of speed to do different things and keeping the movement.

Yugson and Terry got different tips of the house iceberg, different musicality. Crisp in different ways, and it's anybody's day. I prefer Terry's tight expressive footwork and jack, plus the eye contact and communication. But I also feel Yugson's new style inspired jack and his African style movements. Both are dedicated dancers and good guys, and that's what counts. Peace!
P.S. Please come teach us in San Diego, Terry! We're hungry for fresh movement!

I know of Brothers in Jazz. Before hip hop and house made it over the see, people were street dancing to jazz; at least that's what I've been told by a certain older jazz dancer in the UK. It's beautiful, and Terry touches on that jazzy lindy style of movement, but maybe less balletic.

The cuts are I think:
- Bobby Konders "The Poem"
- Pleasuer "Take A Chance"
- Mystery of Love "Mr. Fingers "
- Bang The Party "Bang The Party"

The tune is called mysteries of the world. Can't remember who did the track though, maybe Mr Fingers?????
