Evan though it records in 1080i, can i actually play the game in HDMI?

@SocialDiesel You don't use the HDMI you use "components" which will only give you the ability to go up to 1080i. HDMI can run 1080p, but for some reason HDMI cables have a patent protection.

@mrslapside So basically, the picture quality on my tv screen as i'm playing is going to be the same quality i am recording. I'm use to playing in 1080p, but now i have to go down to 1080i or 720p.
And also, do you have to buy the input components seperately?

@SocialDiesel Yeah unfortunately yes diesal. I was really bummed about that for my ps3, but I use xbox 360 which looks fine on 720p. Depending on what you record lets say call of duty I would just use the HDMI to play then switch cables and record with components form you theater vault.
