Dunno how they got it so wrong, but 425 lb/ft is the max. This engine does not make max torque all the way from 1400-5000 rpm. I think they confused the ad lit which is 80% of max torque from something like 1500-4500 rpm. According to Car & Driver, BMW says it doesn't have a manual box strong enough for the torque.

If only I could have that with a manual gearbox. I hate automatics and semi autos.
