thanx, yeah i know "allo" is a french word. now i must add 2 your claim that, like the french, cambodians use it as "hello" only on the phone. in face-2-face encounters, cambodians never say "allo", they say "choomm reab suor" or "suor sdey". just like the french, who never say "allo" in face-2-face encounters; they say "bonjour" or "salut" (or "salu" or "salue"?? i forget, d'ohh!!. well well after 27 years in english canada, j'ai oublie presque tout mon francais, d'ohh!!).
