to set your ring tone as your tone (witch ever type messge, call, ect.) you must go into settings>sounds to choose for what type of alert you want the ringtone you created is used for. well i hope i answer all or some of your questions. thanks for watching HOW TO MAKE FREE RING TONES FOR MY iPHONE

now if you have successfully converted the file into a m4a then iTunes should automatically open the file in your ringtones tab that iTunes creates to organize different file types. if it does not do so then you did not convert the mp3 into a m4a correctly.

now if you are having problems converting the mp3 into an m4a then you must go into your computers settings and make the format to your files changeable. i found that with vista i was not able to do this until i went and made the option available to me.

Ok guys i know i havent been responding to the comments and questions. this video was created a while ago but i figured out that if you have a new version of iTunes it will not let you create an acc version at all. it will not even give you the option! you must down grade to a older version, i believe 2.5 or 3.0 will allow you to create an acc version.

well if the file does not show the file type at the end of the name then you have to go into your personal settings and set your file to show there type.
