Two cops tackled and forcefully arrested a young man as he was leaving a bar in Bishop, CA with 3 female friends- one of whom was a designated driver. He and his friends were walking alone in the dark alley towards their vehicle by the time the officers started racing towards them. The officers did not bother to identify themselves as police despite the darkness, nor did they activate any sirens or lights. Instead, they ran towards the departing people and yelled at them to stop (they did) and inexplicably tackled the young man, placed him in a chokehold and threw him to the ground- with enough force to dislocate his left arm at the shoulder.

  • I am a bit curious if he really did take a swing at an officer..and that part just got edited out of the video..or they did not turn the camera on tell after that happened ...But on the other hand..the cop did say he was being arrested for "Public Intoxication" ..and THEN said "he took a swing at an officer"..i would think his main charge would be that he Assaulted a cop..not being drunk in public..and hell they are in a dark alley..WHERE IS THIS PUBLIC?? no one was back there but his friends..

  • @MyOwnCasket I am glad you noticed the cops change of story- from public intoxication to swinging at an officer. . I wish I got the whole incident but I did not want to move too fast lest the cops think I was pulling out a weapon as opposed to my camera. This is the entire video but there's no way I can prove it. I am sure the officer's dash cam would have shown the incident in its entirety but they did not activate it (dash cam "malfunctions" were quite common at the time)

  • @chrisarah81 Good thinking on not pulling out the camera right away. He very well could have thought it was a gun and sorry i was kinda implied that you edited the video. Just anytime i see a vid that's does not start from the beginning it get a little suspicious. With as far back as they parked, their dash cam would not have been any help. If it was closer to yall, or at lest not so dark It could have helped. err or well you said it malfunctioned? is that what they told you?

  • @MyOwnCasket I suspect there isn't any dash cam footage. Usually the dash cams are activated to start recording when the cops car lights flash, and the lights are not flashing on the car in my footage. In this county the cops often gave chase without activating their lights. One cop chased a guy walking through a field without activating his lights or siren. Instead he rolled down his window & yelled at the guy to stop, then arrested him with force because the guy instinctively ran from the car.

  • @chrisarah81 Also Mind if i ask what happened to your friend ? Did they end up charging him on taking a "swing" at the officer ? or did they just get him on Public Intoxication?

  • @MyOwnCasket The guy was on probation, so they threatened to get him on probation violation unless he accepted a plea bargain. He would not have the right to a jury trial for a probation violation so he caved and accepted the plea bargain. I lost all faith in the justice system after my experiences in Inyo County. So many awful things happened to me and people I know there. Of course bad things happen everywhere, but it seemed much worse in Inyo due to the isolation and lack of legal recourse.

  • @chrisarah81 Yeah it's unfortunate cops lie all the time and get away with it. Where I'm from there are several local cops who just manufacture arrests, write up false arrest reports and then lie in court to get the conviction. I'm sure it's the same everywhere. Oh and they purposely waited until the guy was a "safe" distance from the dash cam so the only evidnce would be their testimony. They're crooked but not always stupid about it. So much for being able to respect them.

  • Gotta love how cops feel they have the power to make up laws on the spot. "Go home or go to jail". Go to jail for what???

  • Everytime cops beat on you they are going to claim you assaulted them first.

  • i dont know who the sherif is things have changed for the past 7 years i was in and out of town.

  • BISHOP PD has really gone done hill sense the tragic death of my uncle in 2001 who was considered one of the few best officers Bishop PD has ever had.

  • How old was that guy? why did he ger arrested/

  • Id like to see "Disgusting" on the ticket.

    lolz

  • dirty fuckin dogs!!! thank god i dont live in the US.. our cops can be bad.. but most of them want to make sure your safe before they stand on your head and arrrest you..
