@TheAmericanEvita You're asking ME why Susan George would say that? How would I know? But she was quoted as saying that. Furthermore many of the black characters in GWTW are central to the characters and do have voices, MAMMY being one of them. And the Carpetbaggers after the war. The white women in the Mandingo movies are displayed as horny sluts whose husbands have grown tired of.

@ScrapNfight Why would she relate Gone With The Wind to Mandingo when both are such different styles and different versions of the Old South. Margaret Mitchell wrote a romanticized G rated version of it where slaves have no importance are background servant characters without voices, Mandingo was made as 70's grindhouse exploitation violent movie. Scarlett for instance would never even fantasize about having sex with a black man come on lol

One of the worst performances EVER is Susan George in this movie. At the time of this movies release she was quoted as saying she purposely avoided seeing GONE WITH THE WIND because she didn't want people to confuse her performance with Vivian Leigh's. Can you believe that?
