My accent is subtle compared to many in my area. This is just my over all views of the South after living other places and coming back. This is not anti-Southern just my personal observations. Just letting people from around the world learn about the Southern culture form my perspective. I don't claim any expertise on this subject other than living and traveling all over the South. I do love living here but I try to be unbiased when talking about it.

  • here's somethin positive-- im from canada and i loooove your accent! cheers :)

  • @xaimfem Thanks :)

  • zachsav5, I'm smack in the heart of the bible belt. There is very little tolerance for gays and I've never heard anyone own up to being an atheist in this area. I'm just making generalizations of he average Southerner. I know the South is very diverse. Not giving my opinions, just my observations.

  • north carolina is not going northern at all. besides how its votes it is not any different than it has been in the past. what has changed is that there are a whole lot of yanks movin to the center of the state like raleigh and winston-salem. thats what made our vote go towards obama. gosh, that guy that made the red neck gay video is from nc. of course Im glad he doesnt live in my area cause he might get beat up or somethin. also all those stereo types are so true. sucks dont it?

  • Yes the South is being very influenced by the influx of people from other parts of the country. Especially in Southern city's such as Charlotte, Atlanta, and most of Florida.

  • as a german transplant to tenn i jus wanted to say i hate the sin tax (lol) an ty for the vid.

  • Thanks for your comment and yes they tax anything related to tobacco and alcohol. I hope you feel welcome here even though I'm sure it's a bit of a cultural shock.

  • about the gun control...its just that with the rise of gangs, guns are being abused. i live in one of the top ten murder capitals and strongly believe in gun control because i cannot loose another friend because of fire arm

  • But sereously I live more northeast in maryland and we are way less close minded.

  • I live in washington dc and i have 2 balls.

  • I live in Louisiana, I live in the calcasieu parish, we can buy alcohol, but in the beaurgard parish to the north you cannot buy it.

  • @tacoma200 im from dalton ga which is the bible belt and nobody cares about anyone being gay round here and alot of ppl dont believe in god in this area.

  • I've lived in Arkansas my entire life. I'm an atheist. I'm a liberal Democrat. I'm a proud advocate for gay marriage rights. I don't believe racism is confined to the south, I see it all over the world. There's too much hate in our country right now. We need to start loving each other again. We can start this process by stopping the stereotypes. Yes, Arkansans can be unaffiliated with a church, liberal, tolerant of all lifestyles and races, and intelligent. Who knew?

  • u should talk a little bit louder

  • I'm so happy I live in Canada! =]
