Had the same issue - cleared it up by cleaning out the EGR and decarbonizing the engine, injectors, etc. Sea Foam can also help clean things up.

Your fuel injectors are clogged! Try some good fuel injector cleaner or complete fuel system cleaner. if that dont get it, then you may need to replace the injectors. The fuel should be visibly spraying from the injectors. Had 1 miss it like a good piece of p*ss*.

Crossfire injection is king.

Did you find a solution? i have the same problem with my colly...

check the egr... could be stuck open, if so it won't idle right.

Boy am I glad my 81 vette came with the 4barrel rochester carb it looks like the crossfire technology is a little complicated.

Crossfire injection just blows. I'd change it out for a carb. Drove an 82 for 3 years.

probably a vacuum leak, a little gum out while running and buy good High octane gas and drive it often.
Not really. We ended up replacing the heads because they were cracked and many valve seats were shot. There was a lot of carbon build up causing knocking.
With new heads, valves, rockers, springs and a tune-up, she runs great now.
I put 9,000 miles on her since the repair and she runs great.
