@joe645733 You are right I'm not familiar with EVOs, also my friend's runs should've been faster, those runs were done in about 90+ degrees and very humid weather.
@bttawfiq you're just not familiar with evo's, and that's cool. but fyi, a common boost setting for the evo's 16g turbo is around 20psi. many go around 22psi. a good driver with full bolt-ons, bigger injectors and an EBC can hit mid-low 11's all day. it's the awd and it's launch that gets them the time. not the 450whp.
@joe645733 Are you sure? I mean a stock Evo's turbo is set to at 18psi of boost, which is a bit high, if - and only if- the stock turbo can handle it you must raise your boost pressure to 30psi if you want to clock 10s with a stock turbo.
A friend of mine had bolt-ons, a tune and clutch in his Evo, he managed mid to low 12s in the 1/4 mile but he wasn't hitting the rev-limiter and dumping the clutch on those runs to protect his drivetrain
@joe645733 Yeah, well it weighs under 3000lbs, and with 700awhp, it's gonna cook. All about power-to-weight. That's why imports can be made to bust ass with only 4 cylinders - the cars are light and have awd.
@joe645733 um, just out of curiosity, have you checked up on the price of parts for domestics vs imports? Hondas are probably the only imports that can be built to go fast with less money. Prices for Mustangs/F-bodies and the parts are dirt cheap compared to damn near everything.

BTW he is now pushing 500hp!!

@marcomariaz26 well, not exactly. an average evo will weigh around 3300lbs without a driver. thats not very light.

it's possible for evo's to hit 10's on the quarter mile with their stock turbo
