I remember, I was 3 and me and my mum were walking back from the duke of york at about 21:00 and we got back at like midnight! Lol
-
I remember this day, my daughter was 15 at the time and got stuck in St. Albans after college as the 84 bus stopped running. She had to walk to Hemel Hempstead with a group of friends and stay the night there as no one was coming to Potters Bar.

Nope - we just seem to get constant grey ALL YEAR ROUND NOW. "Milk of Magnesia" sky as Sarah Kannedy on Radio 2 used to call it.
I blame Michael frickin' Fish - at least in the 80's we had PROPER weather. Things just aren't what they sued to be...

Nice snow, but that's definitely not a blizzard! Try five metre high drifts.

I know. I only ever knew one blizzard in winter 1978 in Cornwall. Our house was on the national news when a helicopter flew over it.
I was just trying to be ironic - after all, a 2cm dusting in Britain constitutes a "drift".

Cheers for the message - the tune is "Autumn Tactics - Chicane's End of Summer Remix", by Chicane.

I remember that day well. Me and my old Dad went down the Byng that day. There was no sign of snow at first. Then when we left the Byng, the snow was pouring down. We sat at the bus stop outside Sainsbury's waiting for a PB1 bus. None came, and we had to walk the mile home in it all.
Thanks Trissybabes for showing us Bornedene. I have never been down there.

Ahh, the Admiral Byng - my regular Sunday Roast haunt, the memories...
As for Bornedene, we liked the place - quite out of the way but close enough to the facilities.
