i bought an octopus BH-2000, which is rated for tanks 4 times the size of mine. I think going oversized was the best decision I have made in reefkeeping.

Mesh mod the pumps and add a gate valve instead of the ball valve. You WILL pull lots of stuff out of the tank. Stock they don't do much of anything no matter the bioload.
