This extract of Brahms overture is conducted by Max Fiedler (1859-1939), recorded in 1931 and has been remastered by Beulah. Fiedler conducted Brahms music in the presence of the composer, who not given to reticence made no complaint over Feidler's interpretation of his music. Of course we cannot know if a performance recorded by Fiedler some 30 years later is the same, but the recording is still interesting.

Any Max Fiedler Brahms documents are of importance as Brahms approved of his conducting. One can understand why, listening to this.
