Hawksley Workman - Don't Be Crushed & The City is a Drag - Live @ Joe's Pub 4-15-09

The Hawks Returns Joes Pub II 4-15-09 Hawksley Returns to NY to record new work (Cannot Wait For That Record on lp maybe?) but gets sick on the night of the big show. Lacking a set list, not "expecting a professional show", he turns the night into a seesion of requests and favorites - and Hawksley expects us to sing along (both on stage and off). The show was as follows: Opening Story w/Safe and Sound; Girls on Crutches; Ice Age; Don't Be Crushed; The City is a Drag; Jealous of your Cigarette; Paper Shoes (featuring a percussion solo on an empty water bottle); Claire Fontaine featuring Nick (from the audience) on guitar; and finally Your Beauty Must be Rubbing Off. Encore: Smoke Baby featuring Leah (from the audience) on backing vocals; No Beginning No End. We edited these videos from two separate still-picture digital cameras. We also tried to edit out the douchebag that heckled him at the beginning of smoke baby without change to the original content of the song. ENJOY! .
