Long time ago since you posted this but it's still at the top of the list. All better than TCU / BYU? UCLA beats Tenn. then 2 weeks later BYU beats them 59-0. Now don't get me wrong, the whole they beat then they lost this is kinda stupid... But c'mon now. LSU wasn't that great this year... TCU or BYU would beat them or keep it close. Auburn... they went 5-7. So there is 3 teams that BYU/TCU could beat out of the 6 you name. And them beating the other 3 is 0%? They could both compete.
2005 - Utah's team returned Very few starters and lost most key players to draft and QB got hurt towards the end (and coach went to florida) Not enought time for recruits to have an effect
2006- Brian Johnson (QB) is out w/ medical RS. plus absolutely no run game to speak of
2007 - 3 of the 4 losses came when BJ was out (again), our X reciever, starting RB and two O-linemen were all also out....
Utah lost 4 games in 2007 to UNLV (10 loss team, unranked), Air Force (4 loss team including bowl, unranked), Oregon St (4 loss team, unranked)., and BYU (2 losses, #14 ranked)
You are right Boise was in the Poinsettia becasue they had a weak schedule. Just becasue their schedule was weak doesn't mean they were. Boise is a good team, they just need to learn how to schedule
I suppose I need to reming you that Utah is 14-4 against BCS teams since '03, and TCU has 10 win seasons 5 out of the last 6 (they have some impressive skins on the wall too).... That put's TCU and Utah in the "regualrly beating good teams" category. BYU has "good" teams, but they can never get over the hump. and losing bowl games is what they do (6th worst bowl winning percentage in the country) I won't defend them.....
BYU Domiated! Everytime BYU posts a big wins the cry babies come out. TOOOOOO Bad!!! I ltook my 11 yr old son to this won and we still talk about it.

2002. - fired our long time coach.
03-04 Urban Meyer (2 losses in two years)
2005 - Utah's team returned Very few starters and lost most key players to draft and QB got hurt towards the end (and coach went to florida) Not enought time for recruits to have an effect

2007 Utah lost 4 games (Pac 10 loss)
2006 Utah lost 5 games (Pac 10 and WAC losses)
2005 Utah lost 5 games (ACC loss)
2003 Utah lost 2 (big 12 loss)
2002 Utah lost 6 (pac 10, big 10 losses)
In 2004, they didn't beat a single ranked team until they beat #25 Pittsburgh in the bowl.
This is a far cry from the resume of a powerhouse program.
