Archos 101 Genration 9 Review Part 3 : The Replacement

After the last 2 reviews I send the tablet back to Archos because of the screen defect on the lower right of the screen, i need to send this to the UK and it cost me 25 euro to do so. Anyway I got a replacement back from Archos and its go exactly the same problem, some quality control. A couple of people got worked up about my initial review of the tablet and felt that i was unfair in my critism of the 101 Genration 9. I would like to take this opportunity to say its officially a dud product which is not ready for primetime.

ive had the same problem with mine but a quick google advised me to recalibrate the device, it's now working just fine :-)

@opointon Yes you are correct, however to get to the calibration screen you need to be able to select it via the touchscreen, I was able to do this but others online have not been able to. Anyway , this type of problem does not occur on mature well thought out products.

Your 101 g9 has the SAME ISSUE MINE DOES. Bloody horrid touch screen sensor... 4 point is better than 2 but less than competing 10point units. At 2 points touched, the sensor flakes out if the axis of the 2 touchpoints is parallel with either of the screen borders, dropping one of the 2 points randomly. The HP Touchpad, iPad, every other tablet and capacitive cellphone ive ever used, DOES NOT HAVE CALIBRATION MODE. Why does the 101 g9's touch sensor? CHEAP CRAP THATS WHY

I just borrow 1 of this and have exactly the same problem !!! .. it happen on the top left corner for mine. shity piece of crap ...
