This is a simple V8 with a flat-plane crank using the firing order of 1-5-3-7-4-8-2-6, which is used by a couple of engine manufacturers for Formula One. I apologize for the cheap Windows Movie Maker transition, but I don't have a full version of FRAPS, and just wanted to show it off. I also apologize for the background noise, I blame my wife and my rabbit. xD

  • Great little engine you got there, how exactly did you achieve 4-stroke operation? I don't see any gears so I'm assuming you didn't use any.

  • @mwhite112393 It's not quite "real" 4-stroke operation, as I don't make any intake, compression, or exhaust calculations. I just have it set so that each downstroke flips a toggle. Downstroke "1" for that piston allows for thrust. Downstroke "2" doesn't.

  • @lupusshearhart I fully realize that you don't make exact calculations for each stroke, but thank you for explaining what you do. I've tried the same, but with much less.... erm, successful results.

  • @mwhite112393 Always have to clarify, this is the internet, after all. *chuckle* But - this was pre-expression-2, so I'm tempted to program the calculations just to figure out the force of the thrusters. Could be an interesting exercise, but I just don't have the time these days.

  • How have these vids eluded me for this long!? These are very nice examples of slider-driven engines! Congrats on getting them to work!

  • @mwhite112393 Thanks! Sliders appear fixed now in GMod, though don't quote me on that. I haven't used them in quite some time.

  • Your voice sounds so good lol. A little overdone if you ask me, Now all i wana see is this thing power a car at 110+ MPH. :)

  • that was excellent.

good job making that V8 engine, dude.

  • Highest I've gotten is around 1500, but I never really pushed it before I reformatted and lost that exact dupe. Yes, it works unfrozen. And thanks, it's using GigabyteM's propeller model pack.

  • whats its rpm? dose it work unfrozen? looks nice.
