Left 4 Dead: Infected Cup 2 Semi Final - Paragon vs Area 51 R5Pt2b

There's very recently been quite a healthy chunk of new content for competitive l4d including a commentary, so check out the links midway down the description for more info. If you guys enjoyed the commentary and think I should try doing one, please let me know.

Paragon 3556 - 4185 Area 51

Boo, Blood Harvest 5, the most pessimism inducing-map in any game ever. "Hooray we survived all the waves and tanks easily! All 4 should get out! nvm, tank right at vehicle lol". Obviously these guys are way better than me, but how do they do in this great, but frustrating map.

So as you know, paragon really need to do a lot of damage here and take Area 51 out and on this map, with current strategies, that basically comes down to getting incredibly lucky, Area 51 making a massive mistake, or killing them as the vehicle arrives. At the end of this round, something rather heart-breaking happens (or rather, doesn't happen) and something does go wrong. Try and work out what it is.

Also, all of round 5 pt 2 will be uploaded today due to me getting today off. You lucky devils.

I'm unsure as to what game to do next, but rest assured, it will be a lot sooner than this game.

To answer both questions:

recording Replays (or Demos) are built into PC L4D but recording it as a Video file has to be done by an external programme.

While you're right about the log being great, you'll notice if you every try and play these teams is that they know exactly where the logs are and get into positions to try and negate log attacks as well as possible and as you can see, it works very well in these cases. In top L4D, positioning can be very powerful.

I'm afraid not. Only a quad cap on the Infected Cup Mini which is one round on No Mercy Between MobC and Infamy.

Oh, actually about the video. I never thought of the strategy of camping the tank, since the vehicle wont come (allowing your team to spawn)

But I guess the AI tank cancels this

I agree!!! however tanks should never rush if spawns are all downs(unless on fire,survivors near safehouse,or survivors are camped together for multi-hits) since survivors can focus on one target, it would of made more sense for the tank to fall back wait for infected re-spawns then attack. however given the standard of the teams it's difficult to bring experienced players down.

i wish somebody would design more training maps for practice, especially for tanks and survivor skeeting.

Ugh, this is why I hate competitive matches in L4D. They're so boring for everybody. Survivors just camp in finales and kill the infected before they get attacks in. Tanks just hide to buy more time, it's so boring. To me, the most interesting matches are two teams that have two mediocre players and two amazing players on each team. Competitive L4D matches are all about power rushing, which isn't fun for anyone. To me, scavenge is a true test of skill.
