@hearingaiddocs Any chance you will be reviewing the new Ambra?

what is Audeo smart V? how much does it cost? thanks

oh, and another question. Does this hearing aid have a telecoil? I'm just wondering if this works with FM receivers?

thanks for the review and answering my question. i have noticed that most hearing manafacturers produce cosmetic hearing aids for the moderate hearing loss, when it comes to severe hearing loss the dome needs to be replaced by a power dome/receiver. this is where the cosmetic features are lost. the power reciever are usually bigger and protude out of the ear. does the hearing aid have the same problem?

I'm really interested in your experience of Sound Recover since you don't have the profound HF loss. I have a Cookie-Bite loss and find a lot of trouble with HF as my hearing is normal and over-sensitive in HF. "Sh, ch, s, etc." are painful, but turn it down too much or cut it out with AGC and I can't make sense of speech. I'd be interested if you thought SR might allow me to hear these sounds in a frequency that doesn't hurt me. I have to play with volume all day to keep from this HF pain

Could you give us an idea of what you think the difference between SMART V and IX? What I'm thinking of is, once you pass 10-12 channels, does going still higher give a really noticeable added benefit?
What type of batteries do these hearing aids use? 312s?

@bigfoot623 They take 312 batteries. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for a great review and answering all of my questions.
You said the main drawback was the current draw drains the battery faster than expected. You tested the SMART IX. Do you expect the SMART V would put a lighter load on the battery? And the SMART base model, even less?
I have no idea whether decreasing the channels lightens the load, but thought you may have an opinion on this.

Increasing the the number of channels theoretically would increase the strain on the batteries; however, this would not be noticeable. You would probably not be able to measure any perceivable difference by increasing the number of channels
