English:
In this 1994 BBC adaptation of George Eliot's novel, altruism, social reform, and romantic love struggle to survive against snobbery, economic oppression, and self-indulgence. Set in the fictional town of Middlemarch in the 1830s, the film begins when Dr. Tertius Lydgate (Douglas Hodge) arrives in the community to begin a medical practice. Because of his knowledge of the latest medical techniques and his desire to do humanitarian work and pioneering laboratory research, Lydgate becomes the ideal candidate for the pro bono position of superintendent of a new Middlemarch hospital.
REPARTO: Rufus Sewell, Jonathan Firth, Juliet Aubrey, Robert Hardy, Peter Jeffrey, Caroline Harker

  • Umm...I'm having a hard time caring that Edward is dead.

  • Dr. Lydgate would suit Mrs. Casaubon! They are both humanitarians and want to help those less fortunate than themselves.

  • Mark!

  • I couldn't wait for creepy to die so I read the comments and found out his is gone. Thank God.

  • Well FINALLY! How long did he want to take to DIE?! gosh

  • Paedophiles, drunkards and bludgers exist in all nations. If by 'piggies' you mean 'kuffars' then you are an ignorant, sick-in-head+spirit. It is the Satan worshippers in the New World Order and the Frankfurt School Of Cultural Marxism that are dismantling all justice, morality and decency. The rabid Islam Ideology has brought so much horror and distress also. It will be worse, a nightmare, for you as well..The eugenics agenda is to get rid of 90% of the population. They want to dismantle GOD

  • @TheRotheray You could make me King for life and afterlife,but..."Have you seen the little piggies in their starched white shirts, oink, oink, and for all the little piggies life is getting worse..."

  • So now a paedophile's vote, a lazy drunkard's vote , a bludger living permanently off others' taxes and an illiterarte, promiscuous solo 'mother's vote is of equal value to a dutiful, hardworking, compassionate doctor's vote, Stupid concepts universal sufferage, egalitarianism, democracy and 'liberalism' and 'reform'. I hope they die soon! Benevolent dictatorships are preferable but they usually result in tyrannical 'reigns' because of EGO and POWER.

  • @tiffers1912 yeah! it might sound cruel but that was the best for her :/

  • @813Ellen that's true! they would make a better couple

  • @tiffers1912 Shameful, but this is what went through my head: Good riddance...
