  • BETTER TIMES...

Summers were warmer. People were more frendly, Music was good, MP,s were MORE honest. People were not scared of hard work. Unemployment was low, No global warming or AIDS. Driving a car was still fun. People were not as greedy or spitful.

    Better times, Sadly gone FOREVER.

  • The irony was that the two guys in Ruby Flipper were among the very few British males in 1976 who didn't want to bone Cherry Gillespie senseless.

  • o sue in ruby flipper i love you i cant stop watching this!! patrick xx

  • Just 14 then, good times, attractive girls, none with tattoos, good summer, was going to Eastbourne, the roadshow was there, we saw Cilla Black at the congress theatre, Morecambe and wise were there the next week, shame I missed them as the holiday was over.

  • Fitties in the bikinis!

  • What strikes me about watching this clip, is how modern the production looks. The BBC were well ahead of the times. Still looking funky fresh with the choreography of Ruby Flipper. Noel Edmonds was just a kid back then at the age of 28...!

  • WHEN I THINK OF 1976 (MEMORIES OF THE LONG HOT SUMMER) WASNT MY FAVOURITE YEAR (MUSIC WISE)) ALSO A CHANGE ON TOTP WITH RUBY FLIPPER TAKING OVER FROM PANS PEOPLE (WHOSE SPLIT MADE FRONT PAGE NEWS IN MOST OF THE DAILY PAPERS) FIRST TIME IN OVER 30 YEARS WATCHNG THEIR PERFORMANCES HAVE TO SAY I PREFERRED PANS PEOPLE. ALL GOOD THINGS HAVE TO COME TO AN END HAVINEALONG WITH WAS ALOT OF CHANGE ON TOTP WITH PANS PEOPLE SPLITTING UP (MADE FRONT PAGE NEWS IN ALOT OF THE PAPERS)TITE T E

  • God... that was as strained as the contents of a bog after a litre of prune juice. Reminds me of some of my school proms, except I actually remember people having FUN then. That long hot summer certainly took its toll. Still, wasn't all bad: Dr. Who & the Two Ronnies were back on next weekend, both on absolute peak form.

  • Pinocchio, disco and heroin. But "less" violent than the 50 and 60th...

  • @bondbug73 Noel and the spotlight dancers aside, looks like 'ole lot coom down in a caravan from Butlin's. Check shert won pancake race.
