This is a rough study model for a 4 unit condo in Laguna Beach, California. The site is located on Cliff Drive and slopes gently down to the beach at secluded Fisherman's Cove. The four units step up from the bottom of the site, each one having a view over the one in front and using the roof of the adjacent unit for a terrace. The building curves around a central courtyard which shares open space with an adjacent greenbelt. The architecture is organic with curving forms which embrace the courtyard and the hillside and respond to the natural topography. The garages are low profile along the street with a shady overhanging roof. Materials are glass, smooth stucco, stone, and a copper roof with skylights. The architecture is inspired by the work of John Lautner, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Bart Prince. David M. Parker, Architect www.dmparchitect.com dmparchitect@yahoo.com 949 872-6616
